Ormskirk Beekeepers is a branch of Lancashire Beekeepers Association. We have over two hundred members to date and welcome aspiring and existing local beekeepers.

We run an Introduction to Beekeeping Course once a year in the Spring which gives you both classroom based theory and practical experience before you need to buy any equipment.

Our first winter meeting takes place on the 6th October at 7.30pm in Ormskirk church hall. Free parking is available within a short walk of the church hall at the Stiles car park L39 3RN.
The speaker will be Stephen Barnes, Past President of the BBKA, whose talk is entitled ‘Beekeeping in Northern England’ Stephen, who is also a past president of Cumbria BKA and a member of Keswick BKA, has kept around 30 colonies for many years. He last visited our association to officially open our (then) new apiary at Aughton, will talk about the practical aspects of beekeeping where the climate has, historically at least, been cool, as well as his experiences over many years in the craft.
Experienced beekeepers and those who are just starting on their beekeeping journey are welcome to come along. We aim to start promptly at 7.30pm, so most members arrive around 7:15 in time to get a tea or coffee and have a chat before the meeting starts.
For reference our winter meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month, so this winter, 6th October, 5th November, 1st December, 5th January, 2nd February and 2nd March.
