Ormskirk Beekeepers is a branch of Lancashire Beekeepers Association. We have over two hundred to date and welcome aspiring and existing local beekeepers.

The branch, which is part of the L&NWBKA charity focusses on three areas

To promote and further the craft of beekeeping in Lancashire and the Northwest Area.

To do all that is necessary to keep members up to date on bee health and hive products issues.

To advance the education of the general public in the importance of bees in the environment.

To achieve these aims, we

• Offer basic and advanced beekeeping courses

• Offer an annual introduction to beekeeping course to the public

• Provide members with national and local newsletters to keep them up to date with bee health and good practice

• Attend a series of public facing events, such as local & regional shows, schools and group talks to educate the public about bees and honey

We run an Introduction to Beekeeping Course once a year in the Spring which gives you both classroom based theory and practical experience before you need to buy any equipment.
